Should You Let AI Build Your Business Website? An Honest Answer

You have probably seen the adverts. Type a few words, get a website in minutes, all built by AI. As someone who uses AI every day in my own work, let me give you the honest version.

What AI is genuinely good at

AI is brilliant for a first draft. It can knock out a rough layout, suggest wording, and get something on the screen fast. If you are testing an idea this weekend and have no budget, an AI builder will get you a basic presence. That is a real use.

Where it falls down

The trouble starts when that website needs to actually win you customers. AI builders produce sites that look like everyone else's, because they are working from the same patterns. They do not understand your business, your customers, or your local market. They will not set up proper local SEO so people in Ipswich can find you. And when something breaks, there is no one to call.

The result is usually a site that exists but does not work. It looks fine and brings in nothing.

The bit nobody mentions

The free or cheap AI builders make their money once you are locked in. You often do not own the site, cannot easily move it, and pay rising monthly fees to keep it online. Read the small print before you commit your business to one.

The sensible middle ground

The best results come from using AI as a tool, not a replacement. We use AI to work faster, draft content, and automate the repetitive parts, then a real person designs the site around your actual business and looks after it afterwards. You get the speed of AI and the judgement of a human. That is the combination that actually works.

If you have tried an AI builder and ended up frustrated, you are not alone. Get in touch and we will sort it out properly.
